While we really shouldn't look at our incarnated lifetimes strictly as 'school,' and we certainly always should have a sense of play and not forget the beauty of our free will, there are certain 'themes' in our life that WE have decided, along with our spiritual teachers, we may need to 'learn' to grow from and get past. Note that these lessons often have to be learned the hard way, and that is not necessarily a bad thing; it can be part of the beauty of our physical experiences. That said, our life lessons represent the tendency we may have toward certain negative karmic patterns, based not only on our past lives and experiences, but also based on our Divine Soul Blueprint (who we are at Soul level). ALL of us have lessons we need to learn, or habits we need to un-learn, in order to evolve at Soul level. Our lessons can be thought of not only as explorations of karma, but as the mechanism to move past certain karmic themes throughout our Soul journey.
All of u has a primary life lesson that our soul chose before incarnation that functions as our main focus of what our ego needs to learn in order to better express our divine nature and create abundance in our life. Most souls also have between three and six secondary life lessons, which are often interwoven within, or even 'round out' the main theme of our primary life lesson. Ultimately, we choose our life lessons because we haven't yet mastered a particular theme for our Soul's journey.
